Robert Medinger

Robert J. Medinger, 79, of Bellevue, died Wednesday morning, February 21, 2018, at Finley Hospital-Unity Point in Dubuque. A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday afternoon, February 24, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Visitation for Bob will be held Saturday morning prior to the service from 10:30 1:00 PM also at the church. Robert was born on March 6, 1938, in Bellevue, Iowa, son of Grover and Florence (Monner) Medinger. He married Gloria Guenther on June 4, 1960. Robert worked at John Deere for 30 years, after his retirement, he also worked for the City of Bellevue for 11 years, taking care of the parks and riverbanks.Robert was a great guy, easy going and liked by many. He always enjoyed visiting with someone he just met or with someone he had known for a long time. He was a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and enjoyed Nascar. Robert was a loving person who always cherished his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family.Those left to honor his memory include his wife Gloria of 57 years; three children, Kevin (Kate) Medinger, of Bellevue, Shelley (Toby) Scheckel, of Bettendorf and Kristi (Tim Lowe) McNeil, of Galesburg, IL; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother, Lorin Snooks (Nancy) Medinger, and sisters, Shirley (Leonard) Schmidt, Karen (Donald) Goepfert.
