Alfred Joseph Fritz Tebbe, Sr., 92 of Springbrook, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at his home, in Springbrook, Ia. Services will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 27 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook officiated by Father Paul Lippstock. Burial will be in Sst. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, October 26 and again on Monday from 9:30 AM, until Mass begins, all at the Church. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 P.M., on Sunday, at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home. Fritz was born on May 12, 1916, in Springbrook, son of John and Mary (Helmle) Tebbe. He married Alvina Homan on October 2, 1940 in Springbrook; she passed away on July 6, 2007. He spent most of his life farming and working the land. He enjoyed playing cards, having a stiff drink, and spending time with his family, especially his new great-granddaughter. A man of deep faith, he prayed the rosary daily and celebrated Eucharist with his parish family at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He is survived by his son, Al (Gladys) Tebbe, Jr. of Springbrook; five grandchildren, Julie Tebbe, of Sioux City, Jeffrey (Christen) Tebbe, of Dubuque, Jane Tebbe, of Indianola, Jacob (Abby) Tebbe, of Dubuque, and Joanna (fiancé Brian Chaplin) of Des Moines; One great-granddaughterMargaret Maggie Tebbe; four sistersRosella Sullivan, Bellevue, Regina Clasen, Springbrook, Lavita Budde, Preston, Rosemary Dondlinger, Bellevue,; One brotherSylvester Scout (Arlene) Tebbe, Preston,; Two sisters-in-lawMarie and Lois. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvina, his parents; a son, Wayne; a daughter, Mary; his brothers, Elmer, Harold, Oliver Sep, John, Richard; and one sister, Armella Clasen. The Tebbe family would like to thank the first responders and the Springbrook EMS for their prompt assistance and caring, moral support. We love you, Gramps! Give our love to Grandma!
