Alice Mae Schiess

Alice Mae Schiess, 78, of Camanche, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, ER in Clinton. Alice was born February 16th, 1930, in Mt. Hope, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Delbert and Mildred (Colson) Weldy. She attended school in Bagley, Wisconsin, Clinton and Grand Mound. She worked at Drives INC in Fulton and owned and operated Alices Place for 14 years. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Jim) Hessar and Janille (Orren) Thompson both of Camanche; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one sister, Juanita B. Faust, Davenport and her special friend Louise Christenson. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral Services will 11 AM on Monday, May 19th, 2008, at The Lemke Funeral Home, North Chapel, 2304 N. Second Street. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 PM and again on Monday from 10-11 AM all at the funeral home. The Lemke Funeral Home & Cremation Services are in charge of the arrangements.
