Alvina Anna Tebbe

Alvina Anna Tebbe, 90, of Springbrook, passed away Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa. Alvina was born February 5th, 1917, in Springbrook, daughter of the late William and Margaret (Dondlinger) Homan. She attended Ehls Country School, and finished her education at Ss. Peter and Paul School in Springbrook. She Married Alfred Tebbe, Sr. on October 2nd, 1940 in Springbrook. He survives. Alvina spent all of her life as a wife and homemaker who offered warmth and hospitality to everyone. She enjoyed playing BINGO, baking bread and playing cards. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. A woman of deep faith, she prayed the rosary daily with her husband and celebrated Eucharist with her parish family at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Alvina died as she lived, surrounded by her loving family, prayers, good memories and laughter. She touched the lives of so many, even up to her final moments. Besides her loving husband Alfred Tebbe Sr. survivors include; her son, Al (Gladys) Tebbe, Jr. of Springbrook, five grandchildren, Julie, Sioux City, Jeffrey (Christen), Dubuque, Jane, Indianola, Jacob (Abby), Dubuque and Joanna, Indianola; seven sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by; one son, Wayne; one daughter, Mary; her brother, Ervin Homan; and two sisters, Catherine Homan and Bertha Kloft. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 9th, 2007 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. The Rev. Fr. Donald Plamondon will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-7 PM and again on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of services ALL at the CHURCH. The Kingery ~ Lemke Funeral Home & Cremation Services are in charge of the arrangements. Alvinas family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Jackson County Regional Health Center, especially the many nurses who extended care to Alvina.
