Clarence J. Ties

Clarence J. Ties, 76 of Bellevue, died peacefully Sunday, March 15, 2009 at home, surrounded by his loving family, under the care of Jackson County Hospice. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 18 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook officiated by Rev. Paul E. Lippstock Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home and again Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church in Springbrook. Clarence was born on December 5, 1932, son of Peter and Clara (Helmle) Ties. He married Alice Kahler on July 27, 1957 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. She passed away January 26, 2008. During his younger years he worked at Clinton Engines. He then farmed for 50 years. Clarence was a lifetime member of the Bellevue Knights of Columbus and a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. When Clarence wasnt farming he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards and going to the casino. He also enjoyed having coffee in the mornings with the coffee bunch. Surviving are his four children, Sandra (David) Pitts, Cheryl (Mike) Peters both of Springbrook, Marcia Ties, of Maquoketa, and Dennis (Debbie) Ties, of St. Louis; ten grandchildren, Craig, Stephanie and Jessica Pitts; Brandy (Scott) Dierks, Corey (Brittini) Peters, Michael Peters, Bryan Peters; Tracy, Sydney and Alex Ties; five great grandchildren, Alex, Conner, Carter and Carson Dierks and Miley Peters ; three sisters, Lillian Dondlinger, Esther (Ves) Deppe and Eunice Fier; and a brother, Lyle (MaryAnn) Ties. He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brother in-laws, Norbert Dondlinger and Joe Fier; and a nephew Roger Ties. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Jackson County or the American Cancer Society. A special thank you to Dr. Christian Schultheis and the Oncology staff at Medical Associates for their patience and ongoing support they have given to Clarence and his family.
