Clifford C. Hingtgen, 88, of Bellevue, peacefully passed away Thursday evening May 17, 2012 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery, where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #273. Visitation for Cliff will be held from 2:00 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again Monday morning after 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Clifford was born on July 16, 1923 in Bellevue, son of Clarence and Irene (Abeln) Hingtgen. He married Rosemary Mueller on April 14, 1948 in Bellevue. Cliff served in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed with Savanna Army Depot for 32 years, retiring in 1973. After retirement he drove school bus in Bellevue and also worked for Pete Frank Construction until 1978. Cliff and his wife Rosie spent a lot of time socializing and dancing. He was strong willed and always could bring a smile to anyones face. His presence will be deeply missed by all. Those left to honor his memory include his brother, Vern (Peg) Hingtgen, of Dubuque; two sisters, Marilyn Dunne of Davenport, Iowa; and Lois Weinschenk of Dubuque; and one sister in-law Charlene Hingtgen, of Bellevue; 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; brother, Gerald; and sister, Averle Mueller. The family would like to thank Hospice of Jackson County, and all of Cliffys angels and visitors for the care and compassion shown to him throughout the past months.
