Dale A. Grewe

Dale A. Grewe, 83, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at his home.

A funeral service with Military Honors, conducted by Bellevue American Legion Post #273, will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM prior to the service.

Dale was born on February 12, 1942, in Des Plaines, Illinois, to Arthur and Gertrude (Kunz) Grewe. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. Dale was a proud member of the Bellevue American Legion Post #273.

On October 7, 1990, Dale married Mary Lu Bees in Las Vegas. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2013. Dale enjoyed a long career with Centel Telephone Corporation in the Chicago area before retiring and relocating to Bellevue in 2005.

In his retirement, Dale found joy in a variety of hobbies, including playing cards, fishing, boating, and bird watching. He was an avid fan of westerns and loved spending time on the river and taking peaceful golf cart rides. Above all, Dale cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness, along with his close circle of friends.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Kristyn Andersen; grandchildren Chris (Becky), Amanda (Nick), Tony, and Amber; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Hanna, Ben, Rebecca and Kaleb. He is also survived by his bonus family, Laurie Burnett, Danny Teichler, Felix Thielen, and Jennifer Griffith.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Mary Lu, his daughter Robin, and his cherished cat, Butter Cup.
