David Clasen

David Papa Dave Clasen, 69, of Bellevue, IA passed away on Sunday morning, September 4, 2016 at his home in Bellevue. Visitation for Dave will be from 3:00 to 7:00pm, Wednesday evening, September 7 at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Bellevue. A private family burial will be held at a later date. David was born June 18, 1947 in Bellevue, Iowa, son of Leo Peter and Rita (Heiar) Clasen. He married Elizabeth Jostad on July 11, 1970, she passed away on November 6, 1982. Dave owned and operated the Bellevue Locker from 1974-1992. Though retired he still enjoyed spending time in the butcher shop in the winter. Dave had a heart of gold, and was always there to lend a hand. He was sarcastic and had a great sense of humor. He loved giving people a Hard Time. Dave loved going to auctions and was considered the Auction King. He also loved horses and going on trail rides. He was a member of the Bellevue Horsemans Club for 27 years. Daves grandchildren meant the world to him and he cherished every moment with him. He was a good man and will be deeply missed. Those left to honor his memory include his children, Sandie (Dave) Zillig, of Dubuque, Tim (Jody) Clasen, of Bellevue, Pam (Lance) Duesing, of LaMotte and Bobbie Jo (Nathan) Gjerstad, of Maquoketa; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie (Rose), of Asbury and Francis (Susie Winkler), of Davenport; and two sisters, Helen Willey, of Dubuque and Madonna (Butch) Bormann, of Preston He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister in-law, Christy Clasen.
