Delores H. (Stillmunkes) Hoffman, 90 of Springbrook, passed on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Friday, August 1, 2025 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, additional visitation will be 9:30 am until Mass on Friday at church. Burial will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Springbrook.

Delores was born on August 5, 1934 in rural Jackson County, the daughter of Peter and Rose (Leuchs) Stillmunkes. She married Verdis Hoffman on June 16, 1953 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellevue. Verdis passed away on October 23, 2013.

She graduated from St. Joe's High School in 1951. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary in Bellevue. She also worked at Hodoval's Drug Store and Tillman's Variety Store in Bellevue, Clinton Engines in Maquoketa and Cornelius Seed Corn in Andrew. The job she took most pride in was working side by side with her husband on the farm and raising her 6 children. Delores and Verdis did Farmer's Market in Bellevue for many years. Delores did the baking from cookies, pies, breads, rolls and bars. Both of them enjoyed meeting many people during the market season and by the end of the season they called them friends. Delores also enjoyed playing cards with her wonderful Springbrook, Andrew, Maquoketa and LaMotte friends. She also enjoyed making her coconut cream pie for potlucks in Goose Lake. Delores also enjoyed playing bingo and looked forward to her Tama bingo trips every year.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Karen (Jeff) Wells of Maquoketa, Iowa, Kathy (Steve) Tebbe of Bellevue, Iowa and Karla (Lynn) Kilburg of Springbrook, Iowa, 3 sons, Kevin (Nina) Hoffman of Charlotte, Iowa , Keith Hoffman of Maquoketa, Iowa and Kurtis Hoffman of Dubuque, Iowa. She is survived by 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and one great- grandchild on the way and brother Glen Stillmunkes of Bellevue.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter-in-law, Rachel Hoffman, brothers Cletus Stillmunkes, Raymond Stillmunkes, Eugene Stillmunkes and Eldon Stillmunkes and granddaughter, Kaitlin Rose Wells.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Mill Valley Care for the compassionate care she was given during her brief stay. Thank you to all of her friends for making sure Mom had a ride to her many outings.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Delores’ memory.
