Donald Franklyn Kane

Donald Franklyn Kane, 82, of Clinton, passed away on Friday at his home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Lemke Funeral Home-Lyons Chapel, 2304 North 2nd St., Clinton. Pastor Wayne Brinkman will be officiating the service. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren, Corey Ramirez, Brian Kane, Jason Waldorf, Jessica Hepner, Tanya Kane, and Steve Black. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by AMVETS Post # 28. Donald was born on September 28, 1925 in Lyons, IA to George and Anna (Conley) Kane. He was a high school graduate. Donald married Kathryn H. Jones on June 15, 1962 at Lyons Methodist Church. Donald served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946; he was stationed at the Alevtian Islands. Donald was employed with International Power Company for 39 years as a Gas Service Man. He also was employed with Henry Kirsner Bakery. Don enjoyed woodworking, bowling, and he was also a 40 year member of The Eagles Club. Don is survived by four daughters, Lois (Pat) Black of Clinton, Emilie (John) French of Clinton, Barb (Dale) Wingler of Rock Island, IL, and Bonnie (Loring) Waterman of Clinton, two sons, Ken Kane of Shawnee, OK, and Donald (Jane) Kane of Clinton, twenty-two grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, four sisters, Donna (Donald) Winter of Clinton, Grace (Allen) Luckritz of Clinton, Anna Mae (Larry) Moore of East Moline, IL, and Sherry (Michael) Williams of Peoria, AZ, four brothers, George (Georgia) Kane, of Clinton, Gene (Margaret) Kane of Des Moines, David (Colleen) Kane of Iowa City, IA, and Charles Kane of Peoria, AZ. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two daughters, four sons, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, seven sisters, and four brothers. Memorials can be made to the family.
