Earl Leroy Keil, 79, of Canyon Lake, California, passed away Wednesday morning, February 20, 2013, in New Zealand while traveling. Funeral Services for Earl will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, February 26, 2013, at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Pastor Paul Gammelin, of St. John Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 12:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Earl was born on October 17, 1933 in Bellevue, Iowa, son of Roy and Emma (Gerlach) Keil. Earl served the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in California where he made a decision to stay. He owned and operated an ARCO filing Station in Long Beach, California. He later took a position in Property Acquisition with Atlantic Richfield Company. He retired in 1985 and continued to consult for the company. A large portion of Earls life work was routed in real-estate holdings in the Southern California area which he had a particular passion. Earl was easy going and hardworking. He loved to travel, boat, hunt and ride in his perfectly restored Model-T automobile. He will be deeply missed by all. Earl was survived by daughter Julianne Keil Murphy, life partner Harriet Wozniak, and a large extended loving family. Local survivors include his sister, Arlene Keil, of Bellevue; nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Merlin and Dwain; and two sisters, Waive Sanders and Marcellene Kohlenberg Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hachmannfuneralhome.com
