Elmer J. Tebbe

Elmer J. Tebbe, 93, of Springbrook, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006, at the Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. Elmer was born March 5th, 1913, in Jackson County, Iowa, son of the late John and Mary (Helmle) Tebbe. He married Marie Dondlinger on November 14th, 1939 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. She survives. Elmer was a farmer for 40 years retiring in 1979. He loved being with his family, working on the farm, looking after his cattle, and working in the fields while he farmed. He also enjoyed helping his children after his retirement. Besides his loving wife, Marie Tebbe, of Springbrook, his survivors include; eight children; Leon (Dula) Tebbe, Bellevue, Marlyce Tebbe, Springbrook, Donna (Jim) Banowetz, Spragueville, Jack (Anna Mae) Tebbe, Maquoketa, Dennis (Barb) Tebbe, Maquoketa, Steve (Kathy) Tebbe, Springbrook, Mary Kilburg, Bellevue, Elly (Steve) Weber, Dubuque; 36 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; three great-step-grandchildren; three brothers, Alfred Tebbe, Springbrook, John Tebbe, Maquoketa, Sylvester Tebbe, Preston; four sisters, Rosella Sullivan, Bellevue, Regina Clasen, Springbrook, LaVita Budde, Preston, Rosemary Dondlinger, Bellevue, one sister-in-law, Lois Tebbe, Preston; many other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Tebbe whom died at birth; son-in-law, John Kilburg, three brothers, Harold Tebbe, Oliver Tebbe, Richard Tebbe, one sister, Armella Clasen; seven brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 10th, 2006 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook. The Rev. Fr. Donald Plamondon & Rev. Fr. James Heier will concelebrate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 6 PM at the Kingery Funeral Home in Bellevue, and again on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at the church in Springbrook.
