Evelyn F. Clark, 80 of Bellevue, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at home, surrounded by her family. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 6 at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home, Bellevue officiated by Pastor Paul Gammelin. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home and again Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 until service time. Evelyn was born on October 1, 1928 in Bellevue, daughter of Alfred and Clara (Ley) Wohler. She married Thomas E. Clark on May 21, 1951. In her early years, Evelyn worked at the Savanna Army Depot and Josies Café. She has been bartending in Bellevue for the past 39 years. She started at Portz Tavern and also bartended at the Bronco, VFW, and the American Legion. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She liked talking to people. She especially enjoyed the company of the many players of the Fat Man Basketball league, to Evelyn they were her boys. She will be deeply missed by all. Surviving is her husband of 58 years, Tom; three children, Kenneth Kenny Clark, of Bellevue, Mark Clark, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Elaine (Tom) Wright, of Potosi, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kim, Chad, Brandon and Michael; and two great grandchildren, Patrisha and Samantha. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Keith and Richard Clark. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque for their care and compassion shown to Evelyn.
