Fern E. Roe

Fern Elizabeth Roe, 81 of Bellevue, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Mill Valley Care Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 13 at the Lemke Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in Reeseville Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12 at Lemke Funeral Home and again Monday at the funeral home from 9:30 until service time. Fern was born on February 5, 1927 in Green Island, son of Henry and Dorothy (Swarts) Marburger. She married Eugene Roe on December 2, 1944, he passed away December 17, 1984. She worked at the Savanna Ordinance Depot, Bausch & Lamb, in Clinton, and Ensign Corp., in Bellevue. She was on the Green Island City Council and also served as the Green Island Mayor. She enjoyed gardening and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are her two sons, Eugene Jim (Shellane) Roe, of Green Island and Roger (Martha) Roe, of Bellevue; two daughters Debra (Alvin) Graves, of Green Island, and Shelby (Sidney) Peters, of Delano, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren;12 great grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Judy) Marburger, of Green Island; and two sisters-in-law, Doris Klemme and Judy Yeager both of Bellevue. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Frederick Marburger; and a sister Mary Pearl Marburger.
