Floyd T. Meier, 85, of Bellevue, IA died Wednesday, December 8th at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 11, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial Will be in the Parish Cemetery where the American Legion Post #273 will provide full Military Rites. Visitation for Floyd will be held from 3:00 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again Saturday morning after 9:00 until procession to the church. Floyd was born November 11, 1925 in Bellevue, IA son of George and Katherine (Wagner) Meier. He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1946. He married Mary Wanken on September 22, 1952 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, IA. Floyd was employed by the Savanna Army Depot, for over 37 years, retiring in 1981. Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He had a great sense of humor and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving is his wife Mary of Bellevue and four children, David (Belita), and Donald Moonie (Mary Jo), both of Bellevue, Tim (Kristine), of Shellsburg, Iowa and Tina (Duane) Gonner, of Dubuque; 11 grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; and a brother, Clifford (Dorothy) Meier, of Bellevue He was preceded in death by his parents, great grandchild, Layna Marie Meier; a brother, Merlin; and a sister, Algean Wright. The family wishes to thank The Bellevue Ambulance Service, nurses and staff at Mercy Medical Center Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit for there care and compassion shown to Floyd.
