Frankie Donald Don Pray Sr., 72, of Shellsburg, Iowa, formerly of Clinton, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, in his home following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, at St. Marys Catholic Church, Urbana, by the Rev. David Ambrosy with prayers at 9:00 a.m. Additional services 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, Lemke Funeral Home-South 2600 Lincolnway, Clinton. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to services at 2:00 PM at Lemke Funeral Home. Burial: Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa. Survivors include his wife, Betty McSweeny; three daughters, Rita (Ron) Hunt of Cleveland, Texas, Penny Harger of Phoenix, Arizona and Becky (Mark) Meyers of Cedar Rapids ; a son, Frankie (Cheryl) Pray Jr. of Low Moor, Iowa; step-children, Danny McSweeny, Diane (Kevin) Konichek and Don McSweeny, all of Alaska; and a brother, Al (Gloria) Pray of Camanche, Iowa. Also surviving are grandchildren; great grandchildren; step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his biological father, Theodore Chapman; his first wife, Virginia Mae Keefer; his second wife, Patricia Ann Pray; two brothers; and two sisters. Don was born November 18, 1934, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Edward and Janeria (Mariner) Pray. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On July 8, 1961, he married Patricia Madden. Don worked for Milright Local #2158 from which he retired. He was a member of the Urbana American Legion and was a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Don took care of Patricia until her death in 1999. He then married Betty McSweeny on November 18, 1999. They spent their golden years traveling around the country including visiting family in Alaska. They also enjoyed doing ceramics and their flower garden. Don was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Urbana.
