George H. Hinke

George H. Hinke, 93, of Bellevue, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Mill Valley Care Center. Memorial Service will be 12:00 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue.  Family will greet friends 10:30 am – 11:45 am, also on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the church prior to services.  Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Bellevue.

George was born March 11, 1927 in Bellevue, the son of Eldridge and Ethel (Roe) Hinke. He grew up on the family farm in rural Bellevue and graduated from Bellevue Public High School in 1944. George married Ardis M. Klein on June 14, 1946.  George worked as an Industrial Engineer at John Deere Works in Dubuque for 35 years, retiring in 1983.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  George and Ardis enjoyed traveling and family gatherings.  George was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue and longtime member of the Bellevue Golf Club.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Ardis; a son, Jim (Diane) Hinke; grandchildren, Lucas (Megan) Hinke and Jared Hinke; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Miles.

George was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard; and a brother, Bob (Doris) Hinke.
