Glenn Edward Griebel, 79, of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at his home. Arrangements are pending at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Everyone is welcome to a memorial service in honor of Glenns life on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Johns Lutheran Church, Bellevue. According to his wishes there will be no visitation held prior to services. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Full Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 273. Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Bellevue is serving the family. Glenn was born June 19, 1934 on the family farm in Bellevue, son of Arthur and Cora (Hinke) Griebel. He married Cheri Rolling on December 9, 1977, at St John Lutheran, Bellevue. Glenn farmed most of his life. In his later years he worked at Clark Boats which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. Glenn raised two families as one and was proud of them all. He enjoyed fishing, old country music and spending time with his family. Glenn was a great cook, hard worker and had a great sense of humor, he will be deeply missed Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cheri; six children, Debra (Michael) Angstadt, of Ottumwa, IA, Doug (Yolanda) Griebel, and Keith (Jeanie) Griebel, both of Bellevue, Kelly Mangler, of Elizabeth, IL, Kim Rolling, of Bellevue, Kristina (Patrick) ODonohue, of East Peoria, IL and Tooters; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; best friend and cousin Pooner (Mary Lou) Griebel; a brother Richard Griebel, of Dubuque; and sister in-law, Helen Griebel, of Bellevue. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Cora, brother Earl, sister Ellen Reed, and brother in-law Ross Reed. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque for their special care and compassion shown to Glenn.
