Glenn W. Sieverding, 82, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, surrounded by his family. To honor Glenn’s life, family and friends may visit from 4:00 pm. - 7:00 pm, on Monday, May 19, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue, Iowa. Additional visitation will be 9:00 am – 10:00 am, prior to Mass on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, Iowa.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, May 20, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue, Iowa. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.
Glenn was born on December 29, 1942, in Bellevue, Iowa, the son of Cletus and Clara (Till) Sieverding. Glenn graduated from Marquette High School in 1961. Glenn married Shirley L. Kane on May 30, 1966, at St. Joe’s Prairie Church, she passed on September 28, 2024. Glenn and Shirley were married for 58 years. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family members. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1961.
Glenn started to learn to play guitar in 1954 and started playing with his family’s band, the Paradise Kings in 1962. In 1973 they changed the band name to the Sieverding Band. Glenn found great joy and passion in music and having the ability to share this passion with his family members, something he enjoyed dearly. The Sieverding Band played for many weddings, anniversaries, parties, and local parishes.
He worked for Bellevue Lumber and was a carpenter, and in 1976, Glenn and his brother Dan formed Sieverding Construction. He was proud of the work they had provided over the years to the local community. He also enjoyed “break time” with his family and friends and the “round table discussions”.
Survivors include his children Cheryl Sieverding, Bill (Donna) Sieverding, Brian (Dacia) Sieverding, and John (Kristy) Sieverding; 12 grandchildren Monika (Peter) Steffen, Cheyenne Sieverding, Krystal Hall, Jakob Sieverding, Logan and Gavin Sieverding, Gavin Guilliams, Bel, Colton, Brenna, Brielle, and Blakely Sieverding; and 5 great-grandchildren Porter, Mallory, and Archer Steffen, Coben Hall, and Elyse Sieverding.
He is also survived by his sister Alice Kilburg, his brother Dave Sieverding, Mark “Weed” (Sherri) Sieverding, brothers and sisters-in-law Darlene Sieverding, Darla Sieverding, Donna Sieverding, Mary Sieverding, Joyce Haudenshield, Janet Beireis, Marie (Jim) Balk, Marty (Cindy) Kane, Mike (Margie) Kane, Linda (Clarence) Hoftender, and Bill (Mary Kay) Kane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenn is preceded in death by his wife, Shirely; his parents, Cletus and Clara Sieverding; father and mother- in- law Joe and Angela Kane; his siblings and in-laws, Marilyn (Virtus) Clasen, Lorin Kilburg; Cletus “Ham” (Phyllis and Betty) Sieverding, Lorin “Butch” Sieverding, Norma Sieverding, Tom Sieverding, Don Sieverding, Dan “Pete” Sieverding, Karen Sieverding, Dan Kane; Mary Jo (Jay) Kiernan, Jim Haudenshield, and John Beireis.
The Family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of Mercy Hospital of Dubuque, Bellevue EMS, Hospice of Jackson County, for all their kindness and professional care. The family would also like to thank Wendy Kilburg for her continued love, care, and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Glenn’s memory.
