Harold M. Heiar, 69, of Bellevue, peacefully passed away Tuesday morning, March 19, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, March 23, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Harold will be held from 3:00 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until service time at St. Joseph Church. Harold was born on March 29, 1943 in Bellevue, Iowa, son of Arnold and Alverda (Michel) Heiar. He married Mary Jo Schulte on September 12, 1970 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Harold farmed his entire life. He lived and farmed the family farm where he grew up. In his spare time he loved to go to area rodeos, truck and tractor pulls, and classic car shows. Harold also enjoyed his slots and visiting with others while at the casino. Harold was very mild mannered and personable, he always thought of others before himself, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed socializing with neighbors and friends on a daily basis. His presence will be deeply missed by all the people who lives he had touched. Those left to honor his memory include his wife Mary Jo, of Bellevue; mother Alverda Heiar, of Bellevue; two sisters, Maryetta (John) Dunne of LaMotte, and Joanne (Donald) Schwager of New Liberty; mother in-law Corrine Schulte, of Bellevue; two sisters in-law Bette Herrig, and Jane (Dennis R.) Ernst, both of Bellevue; and a brother in-law Thomas (Laura Pape) Schulte, of Bellevue, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, father in-law, John Schulte; brother in-law Dave Herrig and nephew, Troy Ernst.
