Helen M. Griebel

Helen M. Griebel, 83 of Bellevue, IA passed away on Sunday evening, August 28, 2016 at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue. A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, September 3, at St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation for Helen will be from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Friday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue, and again Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00am at the church. Helen was born September 17, 1932 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, daughter of Irving and Gena (Haugen) Budde. She was baptized at First Norwegian Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Helen graduated from Bellevue High School in 1950 and later that same year on October 15, she married Earl Griebel at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. He passed away on February 26, 2008. Helen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was involved in many activities including WELCA, ARK and also served in the St. John Choir since 1946. She was also a member of the Triangle Art Club since 1950 serving many years as the president. She loved to be with family, as well as sewing, reading and traveling. She was very appreciative of music, literature and the fine arts. Those left to honor her memory include her four children, Kenneth (Anita) Griebel of Bellevue, Elizabeth (Dennis) Kilburg of LaMotte, Elise (Ted) Gould of Cedar Rapids, and Ann (John) Skoff of Bellevue; thirteen grandchildren, Victoria (Gordon) Dixon, Arthur Griebel, Joanna Griebel, Jeanette Griebel, Thomas Griebel, Thaddeus Griebel, Erin Kilburg, Cassandra Kilburg, Brett Kilburg, Laura (Brandon) Borek, Nick Gould, Lucas and Melinda Skoff ; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Virginia) Budde and sisters in-law Betty Budde and Cheri Griebel and a bother in-law, Richard Griebel. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Thomas Budde; brother in-law, Glenn Griebel; sister and brother in-law Ellen & Ross Reed and sister in-law Irene Griebel.Reception:St. John Lutheran Church300 South 3rd StreetBellevue, IA 52031
