Renie was born August 12, 1923 in Bellevue, Iowa daughter of John and Anna (Lintgen) Putman. She married Orville T. Steines Sr. August 17, 1941. He preceded her in death. Renie was a very loving and giving person whose life was centered around her family. Her entire life was dedicated to her children and grandchildren. Home was most important to Renie and you never knew what she would be working on regardless of when you stopped in. She would always be fixing something or working on something for someone. She was known as the Mom of the South End taking care of everyone any time of day or night. Many a kid went to Gramma Renie if something was wrong to get fixed even before they went home. Kids that werent even related called her Gramma and she loved them all. She also loved her pets, sewing and quilting, and cooking huge pans of soup in order to send everyone a cool whip container home . She also spent time gardening and loved her yard of ever blooming flowers. You never left her house without a treat of some kindwhether it be a homemade cookie , tomatoes, or fruit from her yard. Everyone would constantly say how everything tastes better at Grams.even her cinnamon toast! Renie will be sadly missed by all the lives she touched. Her simple nature and warm smile will be in many dreams. We will remember her generosity, her laugh, her voice and the lasting good that came from the caring things she did and said. Renie enriched and molded the lives of many generations of kids who will continue to grow and succeed to make her proud. Those left to honor her memory include her beloved children, Janice (Karl) Clark, Dianna Guenther, and twins, Jeanie (Keith) Griebel and Orville Jr. (Edie Benson) Steines all of Bellevue. Also surviving are her 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, one sister, Betty (Putman) Budde, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Orville Steines, son-in-law Robert Guenther, grandson, Michael Guenther, five brothers; Floyd, John, Richard, Raymond, and David Putman and four sisters, Dorothy Babcock, Myrtle Michael, Grace Steines , and Margaret Hall.
