James A. Achen

James Jim A. Achen, 50, of Pensacola, Florida formerly of Bellevue passed away Monday, January 16, 2006 in West Florida Hospital, Pensacola, Florida. Jim was born May 20th, 1955, Peoria, Illinois, son of Donald and Vivian (Phillips) Achen, of Bellevue. Jim most recently was an accountant for Mobil Oil. He was a distinguished student of philosophy and made the Presidents List at the University of West Florida and the University of Texas, Dallas. He was also named Outstanding Student in Philosophy at the University of West Florida. He enjoyed painting and was a veracious reader. Besides his parents, Donald & Vivian Achen, Bellevue, he is survived by, his daughter, Angela Achen, Pensacola, Florida; three sisters, Jodie (George) Karapanian, Tujunga, California, Cathy (John) Novak, Cedar Rapids and Lisa (Rod) Konrardy, Bellevue; two brothers, Scott (Carolyn) Achen, Davenport and Nick Achen, Tujunga, California. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Monday, January 23rd, 2006 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Bellevue. Friends may call on Sunday, from 3-6 PM at the Kingery Funeral Home in Bellevue. The Kingery Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bellevue, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
