James A. Maynard

February 10, 1937 — October 10, 2012

James Jim Alfred Maynard, 75, of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Jubilee Christian Center in Elgin, Illinois, where a reception will follow. He was born February 10, 1937 to Mose and Dora (Smith) Maynard in Hurley, Virginia. After serving two years in the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Germany, he followed his sweetheart, Judith Hipps to Chicago, Illinois. They were united in marriage on May 6, 1960. In 1969 Jim and Judith moved to Carpentersville, Illinois. He was employed as a CNC Machinist at Duo-Fast Corp. in Franklin Park, Illinois for several years. From 1974 to 1989, he was employed with Rockwell International in Carpentersville, Illinois and then went to Hunter Automated in Schaumburg, Illinois retiring in 1998. He was known to his family as an avid gardener, an expert fixer upper, and he had a knack of putting together language in peculiar, fun, and humorsome ways. He loved spending time with his wife, taking care of his family and enjoyed the simple things of life - like a good cup of coffee or maybe even several pots. Surviving is his wife Judith Judy, of Bellevue; daughter, Lucinda (Jim) Milan, of Davenport; son, James Jimmy Maynard, of Elgin, Illinois; grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew and Tate; one great granddaughter, Isabella; and a brother, Mose (Hazel) Maynard, of Louisville, Kentucky.
