Janet M. Muffin Schroeder, 68, of Bellevue, passed away Saturday, October 20th, 2007 at the Finley Hospital in Dubuque. Janet was born February 21st, 1939 in Springbrook, daughter of the late Floyd and Leora (Sturm) Scholtes. She married Gerald Schroeder on August 20th, 1960 in Ossian, Iowa. He survives. Janet was a homemaker and worked at Ensign Coil. She loved bowling, playing cards, camping, karaoke, and caning, playing music with the Corn Fed Girls and was a Chicago Cub fan. Besides her husband Gerald, survivors include, her sons, Glenn, Jeff (Lisa), Jim (Lora Clevenger), Dennis (Jeanette) and Steve (Carol) all of Bellevue and her daughters, Ann of Lincoln, NE and Cindy (Brenden) Eggers, Bellevue; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; Brothers, Lorin (Betty)Scholtes, Preston, Roger (Shirley) Scholtes, Bellevue, Gene Scholtes; Sister, LouAnn (Don) Scheckel, Bellevue, LaVonne (Ron) Kueter, Bellevue; Sister-in Law, Becky Scholtes, Indiana. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one son David Wahoo Daniels and one brother, Leonard Shep Scholtes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. The Rev. Fr. Stephen Meyer will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 3-7 PM at the Kingery~John C. Lemke Funeral Home in Bellevue and again on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of procession. There will be a parish vigil service at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 2:30 PM. The Kingery~John C. Lemke Funeral Home & Cremation Services are in charge of the arrangements.
