Lorraine Michels

M. Lorraine Michels, 82, of Bellevue, died Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Lorraine will be held from 4:00 7:00 pm. Wednesday evening at the Kingery Funeral Home and again Thursday morning after 9:30 until procession to the church. Lorraine was born September 21, 1927 in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Rinilda (Weis) Mueller. She married Thomas Michels on August 20, 1945 in Bellevue. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Family was extremely important to her. She was a good hearted simple women who always put others before herself. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gambling, and playing cards with friends and family. Those left to honor her memory include her Husband, of 64 years, Thomas Michels, of Bellevue; seven children, Greg (Gail) Michels, of Bellevue, Nancy (Don) Knockel, of St. Catherines, Joanne (Jack) Veach, of Bellevue, Jim (Kate) Michels, of Bellevue, Jeanette (Darel) Felderman, of Bellevue, Barb (Terry) Jensen, of Texas, Jeff (Barb) Michels, of Bellevue; 25 grandchildren, and 44 great grandchildren.
