Kathleen 'Lucille' Lawson, 89, of Bellevue, peacefully passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Mill Valley Care Center. A Memorial Service for Lucille will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Pastor Marsha Wilfong will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa at a later date. Lucille was born on December 28, 1922 in Hedrick, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Julia (Staton) Breon. Lucille grew up in Ottumwa and later moved to Chicago where she graduated from Calumet High School in 1941. She married Raymond R. Lawson on June 16, 1944 in Kirksville, Missouri. She was loving, quiet, intelligent and well organized. She was employed as a legal secretary in various capacities for the federal government and later worked as a legal secretary for a large law firm in Phoenix, Arizona. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, decorating cakes, playing cards and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 68 years, Ray, of Bellevue; son, Mark (Darla) Lawson, of Bellevue; four grandchildren, Megan (Sam) Ferrise, of Nolensville, Tennessee, Jeff Lawson (Sarah Hopson), of Evansdale, Emily Russell (Chase Medinger), of Bellevue and Halie Russell, of Bellevue; and two sisters, Audrey (Don) DeWitt, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Norma (Robert) Beian, of Sun City West, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Wally Breon. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Jackson County and the staff of Mill Valley Care Center and Sunrise Villa for the great care and compassion shown to Lucille.
