Madeline H. Hingtgen, 97, of Bellevue, passed away, Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue, surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Bellevue. Burial will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in LaMotte. Visitation for Madeline will be held from 3:00 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hachmann Funeral Home and Cremation Service and again Thursday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Madeline was born June 22, 1917 in Washington Township in Jackson County, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Oberman) Mangler. Madeline graduated from Bellevue Public High School in 1935. She married Merlin B. Hingtgen on February 18, 1936 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Madeline earned a teachers certificate to teach grade school. Madeline and her husband farmed outside of LaMotte for many years, together they raised eight children. Madeline was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother. She was extremely talented in the arts. She especially enjoyed music and art. Madeline was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her two sons, Gerald (Carolyn), of Marion and Donald (Rosemary), of Bellevue; five daughters, Elaine Willenbring, of New Vienna, Iowa, Carole (Tony) Fritz, of Cuba City Wisconsin, Bonita (John) Wulfekuhle, of Holy Cross, Mary Brashaw (Ray Rusch), of Dubuque and Lori (Steve) Till, of Springbrook; 34 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Merlin B. Hingtgen; daughter, Janey Hingtgen; sister, Thelma Horan; a brother in infancy; son in-law, Daniel Willenbring; and daughter in-law, Judy Hingtgen.
