Matthew Asher Burris, 8, of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

No public services will be conducted.

Local arrangements have been entrusted to Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue.

Matthew was born on December 14, 2017. From the moment he entered the world, he brought immeasurable joy, love, and light to those around him. It was truly a privilege and blessing to have Matthew as part of our family. He found comfort and relaxation in listening to birds sing, and his gentle spirit touched the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Michael and Melody (Holcomb) Burris; his siblings, Preston, Elizabeth, Amanda, and Bryson; his maternal grandparents, Jerry and Sandy Holcomb; his paternal grandparents, Harold and Michaele Burris; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

Matthew's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Ronald McDonald House in Matthew's memory.
