Michael J. Francis

Michael J. Francis, 54, of Dubuque passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Iowa City VA Health Care Center, following complications of lung cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 on Friday July 1, 2011 at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Pastor Paul Gammelin will officiate. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 to 12:00 Friday morning prior to the service at the funeral home. Michael was born May 25 1957, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of John and Faye (Lowe) Francis. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1975 and was discharged in 1979. Mike was employed with the former Dubuque Pack for many years and recently employed with Premier Tooling & Manufacturing in Peosta, Iowa. Mike always enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also had a passion for gardening. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Faye, of Bellevue; brother, Dirk, of Lincoln, Nebraska; one niece, Jessica Francis; and two nephews Jeremy and Joshua Francis, all of Knoxville, Tennessee.
