Nancy Mickelson

Nancy Mickelson, 69, of Bellevue, passed away Thursday morning, December 8, 2016 at Ennoble Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Dubuque. A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, December 11 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in St John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation for Nancy will be held from 1:30 3:00pm Sunday afternoon at the church prior to the service. Nancy was born on February 3, 1947 in Bellevue, daughter of George and Alice (Keil) Downey. Nancy had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed being around friends and family. Nancy always had the coffee on, her house was the destination for many to gather and visit. She joked about having their daily Board Meetings. Another ritual Nancy was known for was her nightly drive around town, she called it Saving the Town. She will be deeply missed. Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Lynne (Jeff) Taft, of Lakeville, Minnesota, and Mykel Mikki Mickelson, of Bellevue; aunt, Judy Daniels, of Maquoketa; her dog, Chai; granddog, Izzy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Dennis.
