Robert Dale Burmester

Robert Dale Burmester Bellevue, Ia. Robert D. Burmester, 86, of Bellevue, passed away on Thursday morning, October 30, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque surrounded by family. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, November 4, in Cedar Memorial Park, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with Pastor Paul Gammelin officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Bellevue. Robert Burmester, son of Louis & Etta (Frei) Burmester was born on January 26, 1928 in Hampton, Iowa. He married Evelyn Hanson and later married Bonnie Clendenen on July 3, 1964 in Erie, Illinois. In his early years, Bob farmed near Hampton. He sold the farm and became a carpenter. In 1972 he started a 20 year career at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids. Upon retirements Bob and Bonnie moved to Bellevue. He was the go to guy to get something repaired, he was able to fix anything. He enjoyed restoring old tractors and tinkering with anything mechanical. Bob was a good man, he was easygoing, optimistic and had a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 50 years, Bonnie; ten children, Clarence (Vicki), Clifford (Jody), Kristi (Duane Jake), Elizabeth (Lee), Rockford (Vickie), Linda, Richard, Dale (Audrey), Clark (Dolores), Gary; 25 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Lewis; and sister, Ione He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Norlyn and Dallas.
