Robert Glen Niebuhr

Robert Bob Glen Niebuhr, 77, of Clinton, passed away Monday at Eagle Point Nursing Facility and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 8, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Lemke Funeral Homes-South, 2600 Lincolnway, Clinton. Rev. Michael Brewer will be officiating the service. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, 2007 from 4-7 PM at the Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Friday before the Funeral Service from 9-11 AM. Robert was born June 10, 1929 in Clinton, IA to Emil and Edith (Schumacher) Niebuhr. He was a 1948 graduate of Clinton High School. Robert married JoAnn Hart on September 17, 1949, they later divorced. He was employed with Dupont for 18 years from where he retired, then he was employed as a millwright out of Rock Island Local Union 2158. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church where he was involved in the choir and on the church council; he was also a member of the Eagles Club. In high school he was a member of the All-State Swimming Team. Robert is survived by; three sons; Mike (Liz) Niebuhr of Clinton; Bob (Sally) Niebuhr of Clinton; and Larry Niebuhr of Clinton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters; Lorraine Grant of Elmira, NY; and Ruth Hauswald of Clinton.
