After the military, he worked for Caradco and later John Deere. He was employed with John Deere for 30 years retiring in 1990, many of those years as a Patternmaker. Bob was an extremely hard worker. In 2001, they sold this business, and he and Shirley spent winters in Alamo, Texas. Bobs motto was, do it right the first time. He was a perfectionist and rarely had time to rest. When he did find spare time he enjoyed playing the guitar, he even gave lessons. Bob was a member of The Ramblers; they played many dances over many years and rotating members. He later played with Del and the Country Gentlemen. Bob was a charter member of the Bellevue Ambulance with 10 years of service. Bob had many hobbies; he enjoyed spending time on the river fishing, boating, swimming, and water skiing. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, playing euchre, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 54 Years, Shirley Peters, of Bellevue; four children, Cindy (Bob) Wagner, of Bellevue, Susan (Jeff) Kearney, of Roanoke, Texas, Wayne (Carol) Peters, of Bellevue and Dan (Cindy) Peters, of Beloit, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren, Kelly (Nick) Hart, Tony (Renee) Wagner, Victoria Wagner, Shelly (Todd) Lambert, Sean Kearney, Ben Peters, Anna Kearney, and Thomas, Evan, and Kaitlyn Peters; two great grandchildren, Nicole and Chloe Lambert, and one on the way; and sister in-law, Adelle (George, deceased) Peters.
