Ronald A. Samuel, 67, of Bellevue, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 6 at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #273. A visitation for Ron will be held from 12:00 2:00 a.m., Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Ron was born on August 4, 1944 in St. Charles, Illinois, son of Arthur and Grace (Sills) Samuel. He served the United States Navy from 1961 until 1964. He worked as a pipefitter for General Refrigeration in Elgin, Illinois for over 40 years, retiring in 2004. He married Theresa Medinger on July 2, 2003 in Bellevue. Ron was a simple man who enjoyed spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed his time on the Mississippi River. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He was kind and caring and will be deeply missed. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Theresa Samuel, of Bellevue; daughter, Christina Tina (Mike) Ringstad, of Madison, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Jessica Ringstad; three step-children, Jackie (Jeremy) Frey, Rod (Stacy) Medinger, and Russ Medinger, all of Dubuque; father, Arthur, of St. Charles, Illinois; brother, Bryan, of St. Charles; and sister, Judy Samuel , of St. Charles. He is preceded in death by his mother. The family would like to thank all of the Doctors and their staff at Finley Hospital, who entered our lives through Rons Journey, everyone who called or prayed for us, and to my wonderful children, their spouses and families who went above and beyond in helping us through Rons last days.
