Rosary Buchanan

Rosary Buchanan, 80, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, September 20, 2015, at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital, in Dubuque, Iowa. A Funeral Service for Rosary will be held at 1:00, Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date. Rosary was born on September 9, 1935 in Springfield Il., the daughter of Rose Rockford. She graduated with a masters degree in music. Rosary married Lee Buchanan in Rockford Il., where she taught music for 40 years. Later they retired to Bellevue and she decided to further her teaching at Lincoln Elementary school in Dubuque. Music was her passion and sharing her love for music as a teacher put a smile on her face every day. Rosary was a classy woman who was an inspiration to the people around her and those she taught. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Lee Buchanan, of Bellevue; sons, Bruce (Judy), of Bellevue, and Craig (Diane), of Monroe, WI; grandchildren Brian (Allison) and Brittany; and great grandson, Lucas. Rosary is preceded in death by her mother Rose, and infant brother Joseph.
