Reubena Davis, 72, of Clinton, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at her home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 2020 N 3rd St., Clinton. Rev. Nathaniel Johnson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, July 13, 2007 from 4-8 PM at Lemke Funeral Homes-Lyons Chapel 2304 N 2nd St., Clinton. There will also be a one-hour visitation prior to funeral services on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Terry Freels, Jim Vilmont, Tom Hart, Manuel James, Scott Stubblefield, and Allen Stubblefield. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Hart Sr., Maude James, Ed Cannon, Ronnie Patterson, and Charles Julian. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery. Ruebena was born on September 10, 1934 in Winchester, KY to Robert and Josephine (Dunlop) Green. She was a high school graduate. She married Wallace Davis Sr. in 1953 in Winchester, Ky. She was employed with GE for 27 years until her retirement. She was a member of Second Baptist Church where she was a trustee, GE Gem Club, and the Eastern Star Member in Kentucky. She is survived by one daughter; Carol (Dr. Arthur) Mardis of Keokuk; six sons; Wallace E. Davis Jr. of Clinton; Winfred T. Davis of Clinton; Gary F. (Teresa) Davis of Camanche; Michael E. Davis Sr. of Clinton; Charles C. Davis of Aurora, IL; and Bobby R. Davis of Davenport; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters; Johnnie Mae Julian of Lexington, KY; Mildred Green of Chesapeake, West Virginia; and Theodosia Teddy Jetter of Clinton; four brothers; Charles (Gloria) Green of Rockford; Nathaniel Green of Clinton; Richard (Geraldine Babe) Green of Clinton; and Paul Green of Clinton; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion Toby. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wallace; one son; Joseph A. Davis; two sisters; and four brothers. Memorials may be directed to the family.
