Scott Lynn Kilburg

A Service to Honor the Life of Scott Lynn Kilburg will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Off Shore Event Center in Bellevue, Iowa, a reception and gathering to follow services.

Scott was born February 16, 1973, the son of Dennis and Diane (Michels) Kilburg.  He graduated from Bellevue Marquette High School in 1991. He had a love for basketball, shot baskets every day in the park across the street from his home and held many records for Marquette High School. Scott then attended Mount Mercy College. He married Sarah Wagner on May 30, 1998. He spent his career in a variety of marketing and leadership roles. Scott cherished his family and friends and was loved by many.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah; their children, Jake and Ellie Kilburg; his parents, Dennis and Diane Kilburg; father and mother in-law, Gary and Betsy Wagner; maternal grandparents, Donald and Dorothy Michels; siblings, Josh (Wendy) Kilburg, Tami (Brett) Ploessl, and Jessica (Rodney) Putman; a sister in-law, Stacy (Loren) Potter; many extended family members; and many dear friends near and far.

Scott was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Leroy and Kathleen Kilburg.

The family has established a fund in Scott's name at the Community Foundation of Dubuque supporting first generation college students in the community of Bellevue. Scott was proud to be the first in his family to attend college. Rather than flowers or other sentiments, it is the family's hope that Scott's legacy will live on through contributions to this fund.
