Travis John Pataska, 26, of Bellevue, died Sunday morning, April 4, 2010 surrounded by his family at his home in Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Travis will be held from 3:00 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at St. Joseph Catholic Church and again Wednesday morning at the Funeral Home after 9:30 until procession to the church. Arrangements are being handled by Kingery Funeral Home in Bellevue. Travis was born June 13, 1983 in Bellevue, son of John and Christy (Rubel) Pataska. He married Kari Weber on September 19, 2009 He graduated from Bellevue Community High School and Morrison Institute of Technology. He was employed by WHKS in East Dubuque as a Survey Engineer. Travis was quiet and layed back and had a great sense of humor. He always tried to lighten the mood, even right up until the end. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, kayaking, and canoeing. He also enjoyed woodworking. He will be deeply missed by all. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Kari Pataska, of Bellevue; his mother, Christy (Rick) Helmle, of Bellevue; father, John (Olinda) Pataska, of Bellevue; sister Trista Pataska; a step sister, Tessa Helmle; his maternal grandparents, Jack and Nancy Rubel, of Maquoketa; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Marilyn Pataska. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Schulties and his staff as well as Hospice of Jackson County for the care and compassion shown to Travis.
