Lloyd A. 'Bud' Keil

October 24, 1931 — April 30, 2014

Lloyd A. Bud Keil, 82, of Bellevue, died, Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at his home in Bellevue. A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue with Father Rev. Jerry W. Blake officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by the Bellevue American Legion Post #273. Friends may call on Friday Evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation, and again on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Lloyd A. Keil was born on October 24, 1931 in Bellevue, son of Lloyd J. and Lola (Leonard) Keil. He married Janet Till on October 15, 1960 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Bud served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He then worked as a trackman for the railroad for a few years before acquiring a position at John Deere in Dubuque, where he was employed for 31 years, retiring in 1987. Bud was a member of the Marquette Booster Club, the Bellevue American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a gentle, kind hearted, and caring person who enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, NBA Basketball, and playing cards. Even though Buds family was small, he was seen as grandpa by many and will be deeply missed my all whose lives he had touched. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 53 years; Janet Keil, of Bellevue; daughter, Melissa (Steve) Roeder, of Bellevue; Grandson, Zachary Roeder; two brothers, James, of Bellevue and David (Mary), of Dyersville; sister, Gloria (Dottie) Sturm, of Bellevue; mother in-law Marge Till, of Maquoketa; five foster children; and special friends, the Scott Anderson Family, Mark Guenther family and Dennis Ploeger family. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judith Ernst; and sister in-law, Sally Keil; The family would like to thank Dawn and Stacy with Hospice of Dubuque, the Rehab Department at Unity Point / Finley Hospital - Dubuque, Linda Cox, Shannon Wedeking, and Diane and Derek Ploeger for all the love and compassion shown to Bud.
